When Jayden first joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate, he was shy, struggling in school, and lacking confidence. With his father absent and his mother working multiple jobs, life felt overwhelming.

Then he was matched with the perfect Big Brother. They spent weekly outings playing soccer, grabbing pizza, and talking. Within months, Jayden’s confidence soared, he became more engaged at school, and his grades improved.

Through our Community-Based and School-Based mentoring programs, hundreds of children across Upstate South Carolina are experiencing the same transformation. Yet many kids are still waiting for a caring adult to guide, encourage, and believe in them.
