The mission of Feed & Seed (F&S) is to increase food security for all South Carolinians. Through its facilities, networks, and programs, F&S strives to improve the health and well-being of all citizens by increasing access to healthy foods; build a more environmentally sustainable food system; and stimulate economic growth by harnessing the power of food, farms, and communities.

We seek to create and nurture a regional food system to support and strengthen small farms and increase institutional and individual access to local, affordable and culturally appropriate food. Our programs provide food access and education to underserved communities, as well as education, job training, and employment opportunities within the agricultural and food service industries.

F&S believes that no one should go hungry and works through the following to build a sustainable, accessible, local food system: collaboration, education and facilitation. 

F&S continues to make fresh food affordable and accessible through the Local Food Purchasing program. The Farm to School program purchases local produce, supporting the food system, makes into a value-added which are served in 5 school districts during the school year!
